The National Diploma: Labour Relations Practice – Dispute Resolution provides a structured learning pathway for individuals seeking to develop professional capability in labour relations and workplace dispute resolution.

The programme is rooted in workplace practice and combines theoretical knowledge, practical application and experiential learning. It is designed to help learners understand the principles, processes and responsibilities involved in labour-relations practice and develop the ability to apply that knowledge in workplace situations.

The qualification consists of eight qualification-linked Skills Programmes covering important areas of labour-relations practice and dispute resolution. Together, these programmes form the learning structure of the full qualification.

The qualification is relevant to people developing a career in labour relations as well as individuals already working in environments where labour-relations knowledge and dispute-resolution capability are required.

Entry Requirements

Access to the qualification is open to learners in possession of a Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) or equivalent qualification.

Because of the practical nature of the learning, learners are recommended to be employed in the Labour Relations sector or to have access to a workplace where workplace learning can be applied.

Learning Assumed to Be in Place

Communication at NQF Level 4 and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be used to achieve the qualification wholly or in part. RPL may also be used by learners who do not hold an FET Certificate or equivalent qualification to gain access to the qualification, subject to the applicable RPL assessment process.
